- I have been anaficionado of Spain since 1965 when I stepped ashore as a newlywed US Navy chaplain. Actually, my first enconter with Spain was when as a child I feasted on art books of El Greco. Since then Ruth and I have raised three sons, all of whom first experienced Spain as little children. Our youngest was born in Rota Spain while I was stationed there as a chaplain. From the beginning I was attracted to the traditional; Spanish culture where families are paramount and children treasured.
Over the past forty + years we have covered just about every nook and cranny of Spain, and met lots of people, enjoyed many a meal with newly made Spanish friends. In 1996 our family formed LaTienda.com, which started as a modest enterprise which we hope would allow us to remain close as a family, and has grown to be a comprehemsive source of fine food from Spain.
